Tiny sip of water
This yellow rumped warbler loves to eat the peanut butter suet on my patio, but it must make him thirsty because he always hops down from the feeder to get a tiny sip of water in the birdbath before dashing off to his next assignment. I was happy to catch that little droplet of water on his bill.

Bonnie, I find such delight in your work. Many can take really great photos of birds, but yours always capture the little personalities and tell a story as well. Such fantastic work you do!
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks so much, Carolyn; that is such a dear comment!

Bonnie, you are so amazing, your birdies are turly beautiful as you are xxx

What a sweet thing to say; I appreciate your kindness. It’s so delightful to be a bird-watcher and to share the joy they give me with others.

I agree with Ingrid, with all she said.
The clarity is also so perfect – You encourage me to get better shots with my backyard birds. =)
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks, Kimmie; I’m working in the yard, getting hot and tired, coming in to play with pictures; now I’m going back outdoors. Isn’t spring just wonderful? The birds are singing happily and inviting me to go out there and join them. Thanks for the kind words; your opinion always matters to me!

Great timing Bonnie!! That single water droplet is perfect. Start sending some of those warblers north, would ya?? I’m itching for spring migration season to start!!
Bonnie T. Barry replied
They’ll be there before you know it, John! I don’t know if this little bird leaves from here as it warms up; I sure will miss him. He stays at that suet log constantly; he should be rotund but I think he’s too much of a busybody to put on the weight. Always shooing a competitor away from HIS spot! Thanks for the kind words about my little friend, John. He may wing your way soon!
Larry Trupp
Remarkable capture, so detailed with awesome clarity, nice piece of work Bonnie…I commend you
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks so much, Larry! I’m afraid I spend way too much time watching and photographing these little mites, but I hope it brings joy to someone when I share what I see. Keep in touch!

Lovely capture this Yellow Rumped Warbler, including lovely stance and light of life in the eye! An instant fav! : )
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks so much, Sandy! You always have so much to offer, in your own portfolio and in the generously thought out comments you leave. I really appreciate your input.
Gregg Williams
Send some to Missouri too. I never see them at my feeder. I like the yellow highlights on this birdie. Nice photo.
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks, Gregg. This is the first winter I’ve been able to see the warblers regularly. I took John Radosevich’s advice and put out some homemade peanut butter suet; the warblers starting flocking to the stuff. They love it. You ought to try it; mix shelled raw peanuts (ground up into bird bite-sized chunks) in a food processor) with creamy peanut butter and put in a suet log. Bet they’ll be singing at your feeders before long!
