Mr. Beautiful
It’s too cold to take pictures today so I’m going through some old shots; came across this one, a close cousin to one I posted months ago, but I couldn’t resist sharing Mr. Beautiful with everyone in this different pose.

An instant favorite…what a gorgeous shot Bonnie…mine are shameful compared to yours :)

Glenna, there’s nothing shameful about your work; we all bring a different point of view and a unique offering to the “table.” The old cliche says it best, “Variety is the spice of life.” Keep bringing your brand of spice! We need it! Thank you for commenting; I appreciate your supportive words.

so sharp and such a magnificently coloured little fella.
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks, Bill. I love bluebirds and the more I get to know them the more I think they kind of like us humans too. What a joy they bring! Bless you for your comment which is so encouraging.

A fabulous capture – so pretty!!!!
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks, Lorilee! Wouldn’t his bright blue feathers looks wonderful next to your fluffy little white dog? I can see them in the snow together. I appreciate your comment!

Finding buried treasure, eh?? I’ve been doing the same thing the past few days. Can’t wait for spring, but good opportunity to clean up old files and find a few nuggets. This one certainly was a good find Bonnie. I like the hint of blue showing at the top of his leg. Aside from just about a perfect blue bird, you have done a superb job of capture his image. Nice DOF and background, great colors, nice catch light in his eye, and love that you captured him with his beak part open.

Thanks, John, for taking the time to comment on this photo. Although I live in the Deep South and it’s considerably warmer here than most places, it’s still nippy outside and not the best time for photographing birds. I’m happy to report, though, that my yard had tons of visitors this morning on this chilly day in February—chickadees, cardinals, finches, killdeer, woodpeckers, hawks, crows, warblers, titmice, sparrows, a couple of robins, and some unidentified birds that were very fat and fluffy. They were too far away to see them well. It was a good day in the neighborhood!

Thanks, Carolyn! It’s always good to revisit our old files and discover a shot we overlooked or underestimated when we initially viewed them. I appreciate your artist’s eye as you view my pictures.
