Little Tree on the Prairie
Anne Morrow Lindbergh wrote in her classic little volume, Gift from the Sea, the following inspiring words: ”. . . it is only in space that beauty blooms. Only in space are event and objects and people unique and significant—and therefore beautiful. A tree has significance if one sees it against the empty face of sky. A note in music gains significance from the silences on either side. A candle flowers in the space of night. Even small and casual things take on significance if they are washed in space, like a few autumn grasses in one corner of an Oriental painting, the rest of the page bare.” I thought of Anne Lindbergh’s wisdom when I saw this little tree on the Oklahoma prairie, its form taking on added beauty and significance “against the empty face of sky.”

Very nice capture ! Reminds me of my dads farm in Missouri . My dad found his brouther almost froze under a tree like this & that`s why they moved here to Fla in the early 1900`s Hugs Tom
