The gorilla has been extracted from my image taken at Taronga Zoo, Sydney in Dec 07. Credit to Robyn England www.happyrobyn.com for the La Femme elements of cat and striped hat. Credit to Katie Pertiet of DesignerDigitals.com for the LetterBox traveller paper (vintage aircraft ).
The title reflects the humour in the image with an oversized cat watching nonchalantly on the other building while flames lick at King Kong. If you look closely you might spot my daughter (the heroine) standing on the Empire State building waiting to be rescued by a confused King Kong. Hence the need for a Tom-Tom! A little whimsy is good for the soul. Thanks for looking.

Damn! Your work is so rich… it is fattening! Love everything about this especially the Fay Ray (your daughter) character waving atop the ESB. It is so hard to do whimsy in fine art without sliding into feelings shallower than a parking lot puddle in summer. But you’ve proven it can be done… Plus you make it look obvious. Wheeeee! Thanks Karen.

  • Ahh Ted, THANK YOU so much for your comment. I love to impart humour in my images and I feel a little out of place in the FAC group because as soon as I post my image it usually gets relegated to the back of the gallery. Not serious enough I suppose! Thanks for accepting my art.
