An interview with The Bunny Theory

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your artistic background.?
The bunny theory started just over 6 months ago. I guess it started because I was disgruntled with the work I produce as an in-house graphic designer and wanted to start doing something that is creative and help me affirm why I wanted to be a designer in the first place. Professionally I was trained in interior architecture and graphic design, but I guess like most people out there, I’ve been drawing and making things since the day I could remember…

What is the inspiration behind your works?
Everything and anything inspires me, I like to play with layers and contradiction. Someone once said my work is about “a journey of discovery” which sounds kind of cheesy but I guess it kind of summarises what I do, I like creating artworks that has many dimension so a person would need to study it closely to really understand what it is about.

What is your personal favourite of all your works on redbubble today and why, and if you will explain a little on how it was created?
I’m always changing my favourites, but at the moment I guess its flower on my lips and Am i tough enough now? I like flowers on my lips because of the simplicity of it, I made it when I first started using Photoshop, so its quite simple, just cut and paste using a magic wand…. I like Am i tough enough now? because it took me to a whole new direction artistically, it was the first time that I have combined my own drawings with photographic elements.

Which other redbubble artist do you admire?
At the moment, I love Bec Winnel’s work , I love her drawing style and the simplicity of it all. She really inspires me to get back into drawing and the manipulation between “lo-fi and hi-fi”.

If a famous person bought your art from redbubble who would you like it to be and where would you like them to display it?
That’s a funny question, to be honest I wouldn’t know. I guess my favourite artist is Sophie Calle, so I would love it if she purchase it and maybe act out the stories in my work.

Tell us what are you doing in your free time?
I think I have very short attention span, so I am always running from one project to another, I still like to create a lot of digitally artwork, but I also want to start drawing and maybe a bit of stenciling… there’s so much to do….

Now go have a look at the Redbubble portfolio of The bunny theory
