I was just thinking, having a baby is really much more then a cute baby.

WHY
my brother is having a baby real soon, i was just thinking of making a card. But i don’t know if it is going to be a boy or a girl… so i needed to do both.
MATERIAL
As you can see, this is a complete collage. only the text is done with the computer. I really love the flower backgroun, it is a scroll of wallpaper i found in a secondhand store. from that moment on i have fallen in love with it.
Every kid loves drawing, I just never stopped. 1 day my teacher in highschool told me I could go to an artschool because I was so good in all that artistic stuff. And so I did. I went to the artschool in Genk. It was a whole new world, for the first time I was completely in a world were art and drawing was important. It was so inspirational. Now I am studying at the St-Lucas in Gent for a bachelor. I still have 1 year to go. Than I can start working on my career as an professional illustrator.

It gets a bit boring receiving the same old cutsie “it’s a girl/boy” cards- we have been given a couple of the alternative cards which jokingly brought up the worse side of parenthood (dirty nappies, sleepless nights, etc) and these cards always put a bigger smile on our faces.
