WHY
This is a drawing i made for school (again) But it is an schoolwork for a magazine. So there is a change that it will be published but i am not hoping to hard for that.

STORY
The story is about a boy who wnats to buy a book for a friend. But then he realize that the girl is blind and can’t read. So then he buys a book on CD.

MATERIAL
This is made with just a drawing in pen. i cutout the white parts. and you can still see the pen. Then there is some brown wrapping paper for the wall. and the books in the window are little pieces of paper of real childrenbooks from a pamflet i had of the bologna childrens bookfair. it painted over them white white paint because the colours where to bright.

I am very very pleased with the result. I can see that my style of drawing is improving.

Here are some sketches from the drawing. But most of it i do when i am working on the real thing. So everything is a work in progress with me.

Every kid loves drawing, I just never stopped. 1 day my teacher in highschool told me I could go to an artschool because I was so good in all that artistic stuff. And so I did. I went to the artschool in Genk. It was a whole new world, for the first time I was completely in a world were art and drawing was important. It was so inspirational. Now I am studying at the St-Lucas in Gent for a bachelor. I still have 1 year to go. Than I can start working on my career as an professional illustrator.

What I like is the simplicity of the drawn cut outs overlaid on the colorful bookstore. There is so much that you could do with this same feeling……but I know how that is, sometimes we are just over it, that is until we aren’t!!! lol

  • Well you have hit the nail on the spot their :D
