for his loss

he told a story of his kingdom
where he was the king
and she
his queen
and how she owned his heart
and owned his soul
and some say…
when the ocean swallowed the valley
where some say he was born
his eyes smiled with tears
they reflected spring
and reflected moonlight
and they were beautiful
with a tint of the ocean and earth
because

he knew
he was on his way
