ethan swung her just perfect

ok…
bear with me
forgive me even…
i know i’m not a poet
but it’s freezing cold in cali
and watching little flames
dance in the fireplace
made me dream…
again…
so here i go…
: )

ethan swung her just perfect belongs to the following groups:

Art Inspired by Dreams and Live, Love, Dream:

mya wished to fly
and bearhug the moon
crescent
and
cerulean cold
but she had no plan…
that was her way

ethan wanted to fly
shoot to the moon
and conquer
the moon people
linky and purple tentacled
and he had plans…
one more than plenty

ethan swung her high
and the moon dented
her perfect little nose
now it’s not perfect anymore

ethan swung her too high
she screamed
and broke her rainbow
that hung only at nights
and fell all over her kitchen floor

ethan swung her just perfect
her sneakers flew
her mittens flew
and mya flew
way pass the empty space
where her rainbow once hung
way pass the moon
where her sneakers and mittens hung

when she stopped
she still had no plan…
that was her way

her eyes caught
topaz moonlight
and became a star
her tears froze
and became
her own crytal moons

mya wished to fall
to go home
to dream a new wish
to sip frothy hot cocoa

and ethan waited
to wish upon a falling star
so he could fly to the moon
and conquer the moon people

My comment is not on your writing…

    Freezing cold…oh yeah…sure.

I woke this morning to go to work and the temp was -9 degree with a wind chill of -15

Freezing cold in Cali….It is probably better I pay you a visit than you me.

I think you would die here.

Good news… you are staying cozy and warm and having fun doing so.

    oops and ohmygosh…. minus 9 ??? it’s now 48 and i’m in 4 layers and still freezing… i would probably die there, yes…. i guess i’d rather freeze in cali~ : )

    LOL…

When I went to Africa last summer the evenings got down to 70. I stayed with a family in Nairobi for a few days. The first evening I slipped into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. I was sharing a room with a young man in the family.

The next morning I woke to see him buried in the covers looking at me. He asked if I was ok. I said sure…why? He said, all you have on is shorts and a t-shirt. Last night you slept on top of the covers. I said I was warm. He repeats, yeah but you were on top of the covers.

I looked a little closer and laughed. Here he had three blankets and a bed spread on his bed and he was wrapped like he was freezing. On top of that he was fully clothed.

    Strange how we adjust.

Well you stay warm Mimi. Cozy is good.

This is a poem that should be made into a short film, touring performing arts centers and art-district theaters…..just waiting to win the competition (i.e.-Black Maria, or NY Film Festival). I see painted cartoon figures and hear child-inspired music in the background. It stands on its own, of course, but gave me this vision.
