sarah, thank you so much…. at the beginning, i thought i was trying to capture the emotion and the mood in my pieces, but i realized that i actually live and drown in the emotion while i paint or draw… not by trying but just happens… switch turns on automatically : )... i’ve heard people without true understanding hastenly say that they paint with their soul, but too often i don’t see their soul or feel the emotion they title the piece with, hence the piece is dead (to me, that is)... i tell my students all the time… become your subject (moving or not moving)... become your canvas… become your tool… one of the reasons why i love your art very much is because even though i don’t know you, i somehow i feel the artist (you) in each of your piece… and don’t ask me to explain this, because i wouldn’t know how… i just feel it… hope i didn’t freak you out… you are so talented, sarah… : )
