Wonderful, Mimi, as expected, we never get this close to her, do we, maybe that’s the problem in Washington… I just read the history of her at Wikipedia, remembering that we received this statue as a gift from France, and that her arm arrived far in advance of the rest of her and was exhibited to the public in Philadelphia to raise money for the pedestal. Interesting note, the torch was originally gold leaf, but was turned into a lighthouse beacon for a while, but birds crashed into it by the hundreds, so they reverted it back to an electric light, which was then rebuilt in 1985. Lovely tribute, sweetie!

Oh my! Mimi, these shadows are amazing, the greenish perfectly comes to enhance the previous version (I love this little one coming down from her right eye, like a tear)… Her mood is so expressive.
