i thought that was the origin of the name HALFWAY
because your pieces often have have lovely abstract works of hair
but this is something new in your department
so it is stunning to see and wonderful

yeah~ i did add my usual wild black hair… removed some color on the face… tightened the eye details… like it much better when it was halfway finished… finished version coming up soon… thank you again cb… you’re so kind… : )

yes, just do it, barbara… your portraits are gorgeous… don’t be lazy : )... go buy your self some drawing papers… and a couple canvases and a few tubes of acrylic… i did this with only two colors… ;P

That’s nice – I obviously can’t say it’s better than the finished piece, having not seen it yet, but I’ve often found with my own work there’s more life to a pic in the early stages than the later. I often prefer my drawings to the finished painted piece… but then I’ve never been very good with a brush!

Wow, Mimi, I wonder if you know how inspiring it is to see a work in progress, but when you really admire an artist, it’s a little like a view into the secret world of creation that the artist takes for granted, but for others, it’s a land of fantasy and wonder. Recently a repair guy looked at a piece I had up and asked me, “how do you do that? how did you learn this?” and I was reminded of this, the secret world I take for granted… maybe a little less for granted now!
