and still up…
it has become a habit
against the blackness of indigo
rain paints a slate drape
familiar and comforting rhythm
but it’s a bit different tonight
there are no metaphors
just plain and comforting song singing
just as that one night long ago
sipping daiquiri and sketching boats
against the reflected moon of long beach shoreline
i close my eyes and lift the drape of slate fall
the rain tonight
spaniard in tarnished armour
and the rolling hills of sweet grape scented heaven
he’s pulled away from me
no…
he quietly pulls away
and fades into nothingness
nullified memories
but i’m not sad
rain continues its song
and it fills me
