allen hammered this afternoon
and i loved the sound…
it was the sound of you building out boat
which would have been…

it brought you home
you were close
and i saw our boat…
i sat by the bonfire that you’ve built for me…
you turned and looked
but had no smile…

i wished allen’s bakyard party was too big
so he would have too many lights to put up…
i wished allen would hammer all afternoon
and into the dark and into indigo air…
so i could sit by the fire
and watch you build our boat
which would have been…

when allen was done
it was barely at dusk
and i saw you put up your sail
and went about your way alone in our boat
which would have been…
and i still sat by the fire you’ve built for me…

and it started to rain…

    I love your paintings, and drawings, and writings, and little green leaf you put so much detail in, and coffee mug drama, and comments, and scribbles, and romantic soul, and black hair, and graph paper journal, and ESPECIALLY little blue raindrops you cared for so much you gave them each a drop shadow and teensy tiny perfect reflection, which is of course the entire universe shrunk down to a white dot measured in millimeters.
