there is so much raw emotion in this, Mimi
the different colored layers express different thoughts/emotions to me, all thrown together – it’s exhausting!
i am completely drawn to that swatch of bright red – very haunting

i find that my best paintings happen when i paint over something i have already painted… looks like it works for you too!

Freekinn great work. I have a friend who is a fantabulouse artist, every time she came over to my old house, where she started a painting ( of a landscape of my beautiful back yard ) she would re- work the painting, everytime under a different mood, circumstance, group dynamic ! The painting now rests in my new room, it’s not really a landscape any more …..... but everybody LoVeS iT ! And so do i, having sen all the changes it went through and how it started. I Love it more than ever …...... !

except (with writers, i’m sorry, but there is always an except lol)
to say that the color, chair and crow leaves me speechless, as this painting could be the cover for the novel I’m writing about crows, my life as a 7 yr old bound and gagged ina chair on the top of a cavern peak, and the blood red sky of storm.

this novel is a creative non-fiction/memoir style book of my insane and tragic childhood. I have years of regressed memories due to this, so this is a book trying to remember through imagination, filling in blanks where the blanks are, and adding the facts as well…anyway, my little girl (me) I have just always had this vision of her, still (the lost memories here) bound and gagged at the top of a peak in a cavern, tied to a bare wppden chair. there are ravens, 3 and then the head 1…and a brewing black/gray/red storm over head…
anyway, this just struck me with synchronicity. :)
ya gotta love that, and hey, if I can ever get my life together for long enough to finish (I’m 3/4 the way done the first draft) I will let you know re: the cover. ;)
