untitled III
[from before time…]
.
she owns his soul
.
it belonged to her
even before she’s found him
from before time
it’s always been hers
his heartbeats..
found only in hers
his breath..
wrapped around her finger
his dreams
his words
resonated
only with her rhythm
it belonged to her
it’s always been hers
and she belonged to it
as it belonged to her
.
his stay.. too far and away
and he carried its scent
scent that belonged to her
her tears
indigo and black
rained upon him
his scent
his soul
the ocean swelled
to deeper indigo
and into blacker black
he remained
on the other side
still she owned it
it belonged to her
it’s always been hers
abyss swelled
from prussian
to deeper indigo
and into blacker black
.
her dream continues
.

What happened to her scissors Mimi? I thought she was going to cut herself free! Beautiful colors and contrast between the yellow and blues – I love the bubbles. Amazing work, and so sad…
mimi yoon replied
thank you brad… i guess her thoughts are winning… i want to bring her back to life but not sure how…
chemis
i LOVE this series!
the colors and contrast together are electric
the story you are telling with these is very emotional – i love the symbolism
mimi yoon replied
thanks chemis… i’ve been asking myself why am i keep drawing these… and krisso just answered my question for me…
Krisso
This is a beautiful series Mimi. Would I be right in saying this seems like a self portrait series? I know how it feels to be taken by your thoughts like this Mimi, they overwhelm you and you fell like you’re drowning in them. You are not alone Mimi and your never far from hands reaching out to help you, just look up.
mimi yoon replied
wow krisso… i think it is me taken over by my thoughts and drowning in them… thanx krisso… how did the move go? hope you’re doing well…
justjen
amazing work
mimi yoon replied
thank you jen !

That girl really gets herself into some situations, doesn’t she? Know what it reminds me of? An old Cure album called The Top, its been redone now but it used to be all gold and blue back in the eighties when I bought it first. I love this series, they’re all so strong.
mimi yoon replied
she does… : ) not seen the album cover… thank you much simon…
Julian Escardo
Great new series…..I love this one – it flows beautifully – deep sense of story as well.
mimi yoon replied
thanks julian… means a lot… you are the maestro of flow... you make hard concrete flow in rhythmic lines…
Jared Revell
mimi…i love this…although it is so sad, it has a feeling of calmness and realisation to it.
I see it as not so much giving up, but accepting.
the blue is a beautiful shade..and she still has a tear…
mimi yoon replied
thanks jared… i think that tear drop’s stuck on her… : )
Chet King
So sad.
mimi yoon replied
oh….. i know… she’s crying…
thanks chet!
Jared Revell
:-)
this one is my fav so far…not sure why, but it just connects.
mimi yoon replied
how should she come back to life? : )
Jared Revell
let me have a think for a bit and get back to you ?
mimi yoon replied
ok : )
Brad MacDuff
she needs someone to take up her lost scissors and dive in after her – rescue her from her thoughts and shear away the tentacles… I’m not a bad swimmer, and the water looks just the right shade of blue.
mimi yoon replied
are you tobias? : )
Erhan OZBIYIK
A talent is here …!!! WOW..
I hope you dont feel like in the picture.. If yes, I wish you LIGHT ! :)
mimi yoon replied
thanks erhan… i do sometimes feel like that… taken over by my own thoughts and drown in them… and i don’t mind… it can be a beautiful thing… : ) .... thanks again~
Krisso

Derek Shockey
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS!
i have been staring at it for an hour now, and what really gets me is her apparent passivity… its almost reflected by the how non threatening the situation is painted to be, borderline serene even… then both the protagonist and antagonist are drawn from the same line, is it part of her? does she feel some connection to it? could be seen as shes pulling herself into the unknown…. but thats not the only way i see it, just one of ‘em… very thought-provoking…
on my way with scuba gear ‘till we better ascertain the situation… :)
Pinkham
We all carry this type of want or need to some degree. I love the painting and really love the poem. The last few lines really sell the relationship between the two.
DaRkSiLeNcE
so cute, so dreamlike… & the colours are very soothing to me… I love the trio of these pieces, just this one I think got my eye the most ;)
PONSHOP
Really digging this one – I like the contrast between the “deep” background and the line work sketch – good work!
