It’s been raining all day today – tropical downpours so deep nobody can see anything, let alone tears or celebration. Well written and well presented – I’ve always been a sucker for coffee rings… I think that’s why I drink it.

I have always seen rain as the benevolent tears of Nature upon the earth. Where I live, we always celebrate the rain – we do not have as much as we would like but that makes it all the more special.

Sometimes, when I cannot afford to cry, I feel that the world cries on my behalf. Just sometimes. Sometimes my own tears will not do justice to how I can feel. Sometimes that’s when I write.

I imagine you run out in the rain too? A friend of mine that also appreciates the rain comes out and dances with me when it rains. There’s a courtyard in front of my house where other houses look on and other people see us dance in the rain and probably think us insane. But it’s OK. We’ll do it anyway. Our dance is not for them.

I didn’t celebrate rain when I had to ride my bicycle somewhere because I didn’t own a car, 25 years went by, now I have a place, and I grow things, lots and lots and lot s of things, rain makes me think of life and things growing, and I grow, and I didn’t realize that now I celebrate rain until you just told me. In your beautiful way.
