Remember the Devil’s whirl (Divčibare) I spoke about ?
This is the cottage I have stumbled upon while having a 20 km stroll :) Ok, ok, I was not using the shortest route, actually I was very glad to find it and then to find a way back while the day was slipping away :)

I do remember Milos!, and still I wonder why this place lies empty – it would make such a wonderfully peaceful home, a retreat from the modern world… I’d love to live there and convert that jungle to a garden for growing vegetables and fruit…. sigh!

  • Once you come to Serbia, we will have to visit it Steve.
Imagine laying on your back and looking the fast moving clouds and a few bottles of good beer cooling in the nearby stream. It would be “Devilish-ly” good, and even me as a complete non drinker would have to join you !

How Idyllic Milos, you and Steve appear to be dreaming of a nice peaceful time!!

  • Very true observation, George.
You know I live in a 2 mil. city so you can imagine why… :)

wow Divcibare mmmm great pic, but how great country it is – exusrsion? woho yes yes – Steve, do not hesitate

  • Thank you, Tazzina. Yes, I have never been to Divčibare before so it was a targeted excursion :) Unfortunately the weather stopped me from further exploration at that time, so I need to go there again, since I haven’t explored some areas that I consider to be priceless.

Wonderful find Milos……..such a retreat, love the low angle and that fluffy sky :)

  • Thank you Tracey, I had to bracket exposures. The difference between the bright sky and foreground brightness was so significant that in any other case the sky would look bleached. So that is the small secret about the fluffy sky :)

What a beautiful composition – and such remarkable clouds. The clouds have a unique (to me, at least) watercolor appearance, and lend a mood to this.

  • Very honored by your generous comment, Jan. I believe that exposure bracketing helped me to achieve that pleasing effect.

Jan could have not put it better. What a wonderful image. I could see living there myself. If only this old shack could talk and tell the tales of yestur years.

  • Agree with you, I guess I wont’ mind living there either :) A beauty well hidden with all the treats unpolluted nature can bring…
    Thank you, K.E.
