Crabtree Falls, near Sprucepine NC, USA (please view large – the foreground is filled with tiny lavender flowers and I’d hate for you to miss them :-)
Its mystical song of ice and fire greets my ears – this place, its unassuming nudge quietly delivered to my senses as I draw near in the evening light – this spectacle rising as a ghostly reminder; cool moisture upon my face shaking me from slumber in the stir of passions too indistinct to recognize – walking from out of this place and into me. I am enthralled, trembling in the prospects of an upending of my perceptions, an undoing of my point of view. It is utterly wonderfully magnificent to behold this insistence that I might be – that I am, so completely loved. It stirs its fingertip in the substance of space/time to leave us this reminder in a sublimated mist tumbling amongst the fires of autumn, perpetually falling; eternally raining down in a benevolent insistence that all that I have been led to believe is delightfully in error – I have nothing to fear; even my darkest fears too terrible to acknowledge are without foundation. I am mistaken! I am so astonishingly mistaken until now!
