A dragonfly struggling to the top most aspect of a plant. Its rear wings are wrinkled. I’m not sure why. Their wings are small and wrinkled when they first emerge and must be pumped up (by the heart) and dried out before ready to fly. Maybe this determined fellow is still in process.

  • Ah, thank you, Lorilee. Much appreciated. I went down that day to hopefully capture a heron that regularly frequented the spot, and only found this dragonfly. So we made the best of it :-)
