Artist's Description

I found this guy grazing a field on the back side of the Cades Cove loop. Walking the length of what must have once been a tree lined homeplace approach, I waited in the trees until he decided to leave the field. I got a great series of shots as he meandered in a thicket at the forest edge munching various tidbits found along the way . Here he seems in comtemplation in the moments before jumping this fence with the practiced ease of an indisputed lord of fences.

(Story continued from Master of Thorny Realms) And everything I can feel just gets bigger as a curtain on an internal stage parts in me to reveal the existence of more than I have ever seemed to notice before. My mind intrudes like a puppy trying to get noticed or like a little brother wanting to be helpful to come up with the word to describe what this is because if I can capture the word then maybe I’ll be able to hang on. But there is no word to approach a sufficiency in description; no box of understanding that I can tidily wrap this up within to treasure. I’ve chosen to allow this awareness just now, and I’ll have to keep choosing it, moment by moment, if I’m to hold it as close as I so desperately desire. And as I peer deeper, I see the capacity in me now to be this, to be the one who will choose this ongoing, come what may. All it takes is a little practice and I’ll get better, stronger, more steadfastly centered in this new experience of which I’m a part. And it can be a beautiful process where every step encompasses a new little miracle of possibility. I’m convinced that this is how nature actually works her magic. Just look at this hallmark of her passage, this thriving example of nature’s handiwork; look deeply enough and maybe you will see it too. ©2010 Miles A Moody All Rights Reserved.
