I grew up in the southern United States deeply linked with the land, the wilds, the life in nature. My bedroom was like a nature sanctuary filled with every sort of plant and animal life; I couldn’t bear to be far from what I encountered in the forest. It was ecstasy for me in that moment when I discovered a new patch of woodlands to explore.

I recall a pivotal moment, an adolescent camping trip that took me far from home and into the Smoky Mountains, stoking within me a flame of passion for the natural world to burn like never before. The experience changed me; the boy would came there was no longer; it was as if I chose a new destination for my life. There are so many things in life that I’ve come to love and appreciate since then – my family, my friends, the work I do as a veterinarian. But early on, I discovered something precious in the wilds; it has never left me though there have been periods when I lost touch with it; it has accompanied me throughout my life thus far, teaching me, healing and guiding me…showing me how to be a better person. There is an essence in nature that I try to capture in film because I want everyone to experience the gift I receive each and every time I’m there. As you examine the images, peer into them with your heart and see if you don’t feel something of that to which I speak….the wonder that no words can suffice to describe. I continue to work as a companion animal veterinarian. I serve as a self mastery/spiritual growth mentor with The Insight Foundation and as a Life Coaching Intern with The Global Coaching Academy. The Mentoring Process teaches the student to create lasting personal and spiritual growth through processes of transmutation that allow the student to clear unwanted emotional baggage, limiting thinking, dysfunctional patterns, and wounded/imbalanced states of being and to replace them with Love, self esteem, confidence, self assurance, compassion and wisdom.
