This is probably the last lotus bloom of the year. The bloom lasted one day before the cold rain knocked all the petals off.

    awww – thank you hun, I am feeling a bit better today! I literally spent the entire day on the couch under a blanket yesterday! I moved from there to my bed about 8:30 last night, and the next thing I knew it was 7:30 am, and let me tell you I had to go!! ;-)

    Thanks Emily!! I have them in our water garden in the back yard. I had some yellow ones, but they froze out last winter. Must not have had them deep enough in the water :( These are not hardy, and do not grow naturally here. They are getting harder and harder to find at garden centers…

    Thank you so very much Danielle!! this is a lotus and they live in our water garden. It kind of like a huge water lily. The flowers and stem grow about 3 feet above the water

    They are getting hard to find around here… I have looked on the internet for tubers. I have found a lot of beautiful plants on different water garden sites… Some are very very expensive. Mine stay out in the pond year round. I have them about 3 feet of water with a mucky bottom so they can root in.
