mikoto's Bluebottle by mikoto
Did you know that a bluebottle is actually a colony of four tiny individuals called zooids! Once these solitary zooids are attached to each other they work together to blow a big blue bubble so that they can float around trying catch small fish with their sting.
When I was young I always thought the bluebottle was pointless. I would reason that at least bees can make honey, blue bottle just sting, and really badly. Now that I know that they are actually a happy little family out on a fishing trip I have a little more respect for them.

Thats pretty cool. Im sure your son has trouble looking at the painting. I got stung quite a few times when I was young, Im very careful when I surf these days but still manage to get ‘hit’ once or twice every summer.
