Artist Statement:
Exploring the multi-layered complexities of the human personality, and variations of perceived identity & emotive responses.
How do we see ourselves? How does our perception of ourselves & others change according to our beliefs, experiences & relationships?
These questions & analysis form the foundations of the framework for this series of self-portraits. Relating to both personal & societal perceptions of, and responses to, sexuality, identity & grief. As the narrative for this series, my aim is to combine these elements in the hope of taking my observations of strong & often complex emotions and thought processes into forming a challenging & thought provoking connection with the viewer.
I realized that using me as the subject was the strongest and most honest way of projecting & portraying the elements and emotion necessary, this made the use of self portraits a natural process for this series.

At the risk of being stalkerlicious i had to come back for another look ;). The wardrobe and make-up are flawless. Your work is profound, as it always invites us to examine and question ourselves. You invite us into a space where honesty and personal freedom can be reached inside those moments where we experience your imagery and narration. i was giddy with glee and almost fell off my chair when i seen you posted something new, another brilliant creation from this hypnotic series. oh Michael…there is such intensity and emotion in your eyes, open or closed. I usually come away with a heavy heart in a good way. you’re work is so important and crucial.
