Making hay for use in the winter months is a process that has changed little in some waysover the years. In the old days farmers may endeavor to cut 3 times per year, and they would store the hay both in the barns and in haystacks. The process of hauling the hay in was not as simple as using a tractor to hoist bales to a trailer. After being cut, the hay is left dry or “cure.” Hay can be used as animal fodder when or where there is not enough pasture or rangeland when grazing is unavailable due to weather.or when lush pasture by itself is too rich for the health of the animal. It is also fed during times when an animal is unable to access pasture, such as when animals are kept in a stable or barn. Dedicated to farmers.
