The Marsh was a magical spot that morning. Everything was covered with a couple of inches of light snow, sparkling in the sunlight.

I’m not a fan of winter, but it definitely has its moments

Wow Mike..beautiful capture!! Love the bokeh reflection in the background awesome!!! send some sun and snow my way please..I asked elfie and she said she would try lol…

  • Much appreciated, Keith, and many thanks for the “fave”, too! We only had the sun until about 1:00 p.m. and it started raining that evening. And then the deep freeze. Now it’s thawing again. I can send you some clouds and some mucky, half melted snow if you’d like…. :o)

You have color…! We are still pretty grey here in Toronto although we did get a bit of snow but just the sort that ends up looking grey on the streets…..Yes, you have captured the beauty that the first snowfall is…with those blue skies it’s is a very pretty sight…

  • Thanks so very much, Kat. We had colour – for a few hours on Boxing Day! It turned The Marsh into a magical place that morning, though. I was glad I decided to go.

Beautiful colour palette, as only nature can. Gorgeous image, Mike. Love those specular highlights? Whatever they are I love them. Cat:)

  • Many, many thanks, Cat, and I greatly appreciate the “fave”, too! It was just around the freezing mark and the highlights are the sun reflecting on the water droplets, the tiny icicles and the snowflakes on the surrounding branches. It was a wonderful place to be that morning!

What a combination. It is 34 here today.

  • Thanks, Fred. It was just around freezing that morning and, if winter stayed like that, I wouldn’t be complaining. Unfortunately, the worst is yet to come….
