I was standing at the edge of the pond by the trails and these two Maple leaves drifted into view, gently turning as they approached. Slowly spinning, they finally came into a small patch of sunlight. I watched them float by and many memories filled my mind. A quiet melancholy descended on me. Maybe it was due to the approach of winter or maybe it was the image of these leaves just dancing alone and, eventually, silently drifting below the surface of the pond to join the thousands of others resting there.
