Great dark background to highlight this beautiful image…… I always look to the eyes!!!! Nice!!!!! Great photography!!!!

  • Thanks very much, Brenda. And many, many thanks for the favourite! One of the joys of slide film is its dynamic range. In certain conditions, even in daylight, the background can be completely dark while the subect just “pops” out. This was scanned and sharpened just a little. That’s all.

    Here’s the whole thing:

What a wonderful bird is the Pelican,
Whose beak can hold more than it’s belly can.
It can hold in its beak, enough food for a week-
But I’m darned if I see how the Hell-i-can

    Cheers,
    Mike.

    Amazing colours, lovely bird.

  • Many thanks, FM. Not Kodachrome, but Ektachrome’s still a not too bad a film!

nicely lit! As I remember January & February ’99 would have been a good time to be in Florida, there was no end of snow that winter.

  • Many thanks, Brock. I drove back from Mirabel Airport in a snowstorm. It was a very therapeutic trip for me. Dad had passed on in early January and I was going through a pretty black depression due to that and other reasons. The sunshine, the people, the wildlife all worked wonders. I’d recommend this type of trip to anyone.
