The Finish Line
This is a photo of a contestant in an Ironman race. I panned the camera as he raced towards the finish. A slow shutter speed created the effect. Nikon D40X

Thank you DebraLee. I shot over 700 photos of this race using a slow shutter speed technique. In the end, I only kept about 6. So a very high delete rate. But the few good one I really like, so it was worth it! Mike

Great Mike. I wont get a chance to do the critique/lesson for a few days.
Could you include any technical data you may have (camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed ISO/ASA…) as well as any post-production details.
Thanx again.

I can relate! Superb image and your hit rate is fair. I use the slow shutter speed and pan/crash zoom for aviation and bicyle images. Just to be different.
