An Indigenous Australian fighter, the Boomerang was hastily built during the desperate years of World War 2 as a stop-gap fighter. Used mainly for ground support it gave a sterling performance before being replace by more up to date fighters.

It is nice to admire some local colours…very different from those we had fought with.
