The 1st Storm of 2012
It’s as fierce as we have had for some time
(My neighbour’s garden fence seems to have become mine)

I make no apology for the grainy quality of the image……

Only a complete lunatic would have risked their best camera down at Newhaven West Beach today. So I was using my trusty Panasonic fz50
which, over the years has had pretty much everything thrown at it.
I had to have a high ISO setting to obtain a reasonable shutter speed.

This almost complete lunatic had to lay down on the shingle as it was impossible to stand still in the wind.

The photo was taken about 2/3rds of the way down the ebb tide, So I hope to return to the beach just before sunset when the tide will be about 3 metres higher . Hopefully the rain may have subsided in which case I may just take one of my SLR cameras with me
The speck of light is Newhaven Lighthouse.
I decided on sepia which gave that bit better clarity

Panasonic fz50

I may be slightly mad, but I just love extreme weather.
There is something exhilarating about wrapping up in wet weather gear and taking on the elements.
