Today I finally completed a superb shoreline walk from Birling Gap to Cow Gap with a return walk via the cliff top path.
The walk along the shore is only about 5km but most of it is a mixture of large shingle and major rock falls which have to be negotiated around.
At times the high water mark is about 10 feet up the cliff face, A reminder to time your walk properly.
About 1/2km beyond the lighthouse you come to a lovely sandy stretch called Falling Sands, before a final 1/2km picking your way over rocks.
From Cow Gap you ascend a path up a large landslip.
