When returning home from the Eastbourne area,
I frequently take a diversion along the beachy head road.
Sometimes to photograph the lighthouse at Beachy Head, sometimes to drop down to the beach at Birling Gap.
But often just to drive theough this wonderful open landscape.
View west from near Beachy Head.
Beachy Head is over my left shoulder.
Belle Toute Lighthouse (which is now a private residence) can be seen on the headland.
Birling Gap is in the dip right of centre with Cuckmere Haven further west.
The headland furthest right is Seaford Head.
The series of cliffs between beachy head & Cuckmere Haven are known as The Seven Sisters.
It is this stretch of coast that is often used in films because of the sweeping white chalk cliffs with totally undeveloped countryside behind.
