Day 6 Easter Holiday 2012
A minor summit & a major satisfaction
A pre breakfast visit to the fells behind our holiday cottage.
Armed with Camera, tripod & bad back I ventured out to the nearby tarn.
On arrival at the tarn I decided on an attempt to reach the summit of Holme Fell.
At just 1040ft it is little more than a hill, but the views are excellent.
A walk that would normally take me 15 or 20 minutes lasted just over an hour.
There are some superb views from the summit including this view looking south along the length of
Lake District National Park

We are staying in the same cottage this year, so I am pretty certain I will visit this beautiful spot again next week.
This year though with back fully restored, I will almost run to the summit.
