The Seven Sisters

The Seven Sisters

The Seven Sisters
Sussex
England

This the view of the 1st 4 sisters as seen from Cuckmere Haven
East Sussex

My favourite area near where I live is the Coast between Seaford & Eastbourne
I love the soaring chalk cliffs of Seaford Head & the Seven Sisters.
This is where the south downs meet the sea. There are only a few points of access to the beach.
Hope Gap, Cuckmere Haven,Birling Gap & Cow Gap

The Seven sisters should not be confused with The white cliffs of Dover
which are about 70miles along the coast in Kent

Challenge Winner “My corner of the World” in ” Happy Haven” Group

    GReat capture, stunning.

  • mikebov replied

The chalk cliffs between Cuckmere Haven & Eastbourne in Sussex are known as the Seven Sisters (there are 7 summits).
This range of cliffs has been used in films to represent the white cliffs of Dover.(They are whiter than their counterparts in Kent).
