Old Man of Storr. Isle of Skye. Scotland
The Old Man of Storr on the Isle of Skye, Scotland
Skye is known as the “misty Isle” and with altitude this place is often under cloud. We were privaleged to witness a really beautiful dawn with colours and shadows changing every few minutes. I was pleased to share this day with Shawn Haselgrove, my companion on a memorable trip

Another magic photo of Skye. Not denigrating your photography at all, its very good.
But this place must be absolutely beautiful. The amount of shots on the bubble of this place that are completely gorgeous is phenomenal.
If I ever get the urge to travel to Europe this place is definitely going on the list.

. . thanks Garth, certainly for a lot of folk, a trip to Skye has to include “The Old Man of Storr”. The geology here is 60-65 million years [Jurassic] and has been formed by volcanic action. Nowwethered and eroded the escarpments along the North East side of the island, including the Trotternish Ridge offer wonderful photo opportunities in the early morning, and with seasonal conditions. The Old Man being some of the most dramatic
This trip was my second visit here as I’m some 850 miles south in Dorset.UK on another World Heritage site caleed the Jurassic Coast as my own site testifies
thanks for your interest and kind comments

Gorgeous photography Mike! This hill looks like it has seen much activity in its life and could tell many a story! The colours here are gorgeous – would love to see this one day and maybe one day I will! My ancestors are originally from Scotland. Wouldn’t it be great to know if they had been here?!! Time travel, yes please! One to FAVE and daydream by!
