Dear Friends

Dear Friends i leave you today
To embark on a journey of self discovery
To discover a self i never knew in me
Ill look into a pond and see in its reflection
A girl i never knew, a person renewed
The glassy cover washing away the dirt and filth
Revealing a new self

Ill climb a mountain and when i reach the top
Ill touch the sky and the clouds above
Ill be enlightened and ever true
Ill never look for the girl i once knew
The girl who hid from all around her
Too scared to emerge from her surroundings

Ill swim in the ocean and drown in its embrace
The cool languid sea that i have never seen
Rinse me and remove all that was there
A clean, untouched mirror in which to stare
No scratches or marks just crystal clear.

Ill run through the forest at the speed of light
And feel my emotions melt from sight
Warm and happy is how ill emerge
Like a butterfly from a cocoon
Hung in mid air

Ill bathe myself in sunlight in the golden rays
And breath in the scent with which ill be amazed
Skin kissed with the warm loving touch
Life has been given as though its just begun
Mother Earth has given me a new lease on life
When i was in deep times of darkness and strife

Breath in the scent of all thats around
Be amazed by the subtle sounds
Let yourself feel what you never thought possible
In this hollow shell in which your soul dwells
We have something amazing and we dont even know
Let yourself feel it, let yourself go
Discover a side that you never knew
The free, loving spirit deep inside your soul
