I’m an amateur photographer seduced by digital and by the glorious visual riches available to us. I use a lot of photoshop, because although the world is beautiful already, I am not skilled enough or often enough in the right place to capture everything I want to show, that I have seen.
Although I studied art at college, I have worked as a civil servant, a market researcher, in accounts and in factories and it wasn’t until my son gave me a neat point and shoot fuji for Christmas, some fifteen years ago, that I got into photography. I had approached creative computer software via an interest in writing music (well to be honest, I only approached computers at all for that reason) and as soon as I got a digital camera it seemed a natural transition to acquire photoshop and to learn what it could do for me from the photos I had taken.
Now 66, I’m still enchanted by the wonderful stuff we can get to play with these days. We are so lucky to have these tools and this world.
