Contemplating the Spider by Mieke Boynton
Clear

I’m putting together a photobook and going back through my unprocessed photos to see whether I’ve missed any…
This one’s from my trip to Karijini National Park (Western Australia) in 2010. To get to this magnificent green pool of water (nicknamed “Kermit’s Pool”) you have to “spider walk” … ie find hand- and foot-holds along the skinny gorge walls over the top of the waterfall. Though it’s possible to walk IN the water, the rock is treacherously smooth and you can find yourself (and your camera gear) quickly taking a less-than-smooth ride down the waterfall into the pool at the bottom. It’s worth every heart-in-your-mouth minute to see this magnificent place :)

I’m just an Aussie girl who’s a bit mad about photography :)

really like the steel blue stone..looks like its going…in contrast to the creek coming, nice zigzag :-)

  • I didn’t really see it like that before, Kip (I was only looking at the diagonal line… not what was happening either side of it!)- but you’re absolutely right! Thanks heaps!
