While we were in France, there were a couple of days when we needed to take care of things like laundry and shopping. Not wanting to miss a photographic opportunity, I set up a “light room” in my apartment, using the curtains as a backdrop and the lovely natural mediterranean light as the light source. Then I collected bits and pieces from around the apartment (with the owner’s permission) and photographed them!
I was pretty happy with how well the D800 performed… and the 24-70mm. I really enjoyed doing this and hope to do a lot more of it!

I’m just an Aussie girl who’s a bit mad about photography :)

Nice – I love the neutral colours and the use of natural light :)

  • Thank you, Jodie!! I’ve wanted to do some still life photography for AGES but it just seems like I’m not taking advantage of where I live if I stay indoors!!! :)

wonderful .much goodie idea photographing fruit! I keep buying pears to paint a pic but end up eating them as I am soooo slow…

  • Ha ha ha! Actually, Virginia – my stepdad put these wonderful pinky-peachy coloured pears in the shopping trolley in France, and I pounced on them and made him promise he wouldn’t eat them til I’d photographed them! They’re a lovely colour… and it’s a great idea to photograph fruit if you can bear to wait!! :) :) :)
