A free range Kimberley Kombi…….love the colours and framing, Mieke!

  • :) :) :) We were actually running really late to meet up with someone, but when we saw this, we couldn’t drive past without stopping! Typical photographers…

Great find Mieke, I wonder if he’s the same bloke who made his pile when pardon won the cup? ;)

That was Pardon with a capital P… :)

  • Tee hee hee… I don’t think Combi vans were around when Clancy and The Man from Snowy River were chasing wild brumbies…
    =D
But I guess he could kinda be seen as the old fella reminiscing on more eventful times… in that, I can see the parallel…

pity it was a VW and not a ford… geddit? Ford? Harrison?

OK, enough with the lame jokes, love that colour combo, nothing beats that dramatic brown, gold rust colour, combined with the azure sky of the outback. Placement of the tree adds a weighty balance to it.

  • Tee hee hee… you fellas are all so witty today!! ;)
Thanks heaps, John. I think my head was actually ON the ground to take this photo … glad it turned out okay!

  • Thank you, Robyn!! I think he’s probably had some good times, yeah ;)

What a great shot, Mieke! Three loners gathered together for a moment in time… the tree, the cloud, and the old Kombi. Looks like the Kombi was cannibalised for anything useful before the carcass was left for future archeologists to discover.

  • I’d say there were four loners, except that Jonathan was there too. So yeah, I guess there were only three. I think Harrison will be waiting there a while….

nice capture miss mieke, looks like the combo needs a bit of work. It’s funny how we call the image title by the name that has been written on the vehicle, see my pooch parnaby
