Hmmm… wonder if it works!? Dean… you are getting sleepy… you will buy a large framed print of this photo…. Didn’t work? Oh bugger :(
wonderful series Mieke :)
Thank you :) :) :)
If I were a floor tile designer, I’d steal that. I think it looks fabbo. Speaking of which, Herman’s Hermits are in town. Remember them. No you wouldn’t. Too young. But back to the tiles… I really do think that design would work well in a kitchen. It’s a very clever shot, actually. The more I study it, the more I like it.
Hmmm… I checked out Wikipedia’s entry for Herman’s Hermits but the link doesn’t really pop out at me. Or was it the “fabbo” that prompted the reference? Regardless, the fact that this image actually pulls you further in rather than just being a quick once-over is a very good thing :) :) :) Thanks, Gary!
I LOVE this Mieke! The whole series is lovely. Are the dry cracked beds due to drought or just the dry season?
Just the usual Dry season :) :) Nothing to worry about. Happens every year. It’s just started heating up here again though, and there’s a bit of moisture in the air, so I reckon it won’t be too long before we start seeing clouds again…I’m really glad you like it, Kylie!!
I love it Mieke, there is something sort of Zen about it, amazing to have an image that draws you in without a specific focal point. :)
I have to admit… you were absolutely right. :) :) :)Thanks for the suggestion!! (Believe it or not, I didn’t end up having to crop out anything as I took this shot without any ‘distracting features’ at the time… so I guess I had the same idea as you did!! You know what they say… Great Minds yadda yadda yadda…)
It’s a bit mesmerising like watching a fire… :)
It really is the most amazing place, Mieke! Love what you’ve done here!
Thanks, Mel :)
Just love the textures and shapes on show here Mieke. I reslly dig the sense of perespective and distance you’ve obtained with only the floor to look at and nothing breaking the feel that this just runs and runs away from your vision and out into the horizon. The ever decreasing size of the remaining gaps does this and the varied natural patterns are totally mesmerising leaving the eye to discover new patterns with every passing view.
Oh, how I’ve missed your eloquent descriptions, Stuart!!! Thank you!!! Big smiles!!!
What an amazing shot. It just seems to go on for ever. Love it id B&W
