I’ve lived in the Kimberley for more than two years now (admittedly, I had a stint in Melbourne in between, but the truth still holds!!) and ever since I bought my Ben Knapinski booklet of Kimberley photos, I’ve wanted to capture a sunset with boab silhouettes that showed the amazing range of Kimberley colours…
…and I’ve finally captured what I was hoping for. Here it is. Like it or loathe it ~ this is the shot I’ve been wanting to capture since early 2008!!

I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains… Dorothea Mackellar would have loved this shot, Mieke. She felt very attached to Oz and obviously you do too.
What’s there not to love about the landscapes in Australia? The longer I live here, the more attached I become to our amazing land. And the more I learn about it, the more there is to appreciate. And considering I’ve hardly seen any of Qld, and I’ve never even been to Tassie, I’ve got a whole lot more to discover!!

I don’t think I could ever get tired of taking boab photos… but the waterfalls up the Gibb River Road beckon… and then there’s all that wonderful coastline near Broome that I’m yet to thoroughly explore… I’m sorry, Jenni ~ I think it’ll be a while before Melbourne is a tempting option!!! =D
