The vibrant colours of sunset are gradually consumed by the ascent of more muted evening tones on the layered hills of Karijini National Park, Western Australia.

Thats awesome, really awesome!!
Thanks, David. Everyone else was down on a hill to the left of here, and I was perched up on a ledge all my myself watching this… When I’d taken four or five pics I was happy with, I put the camera down and just watched the show… ;)

superb shot. the contrasting colour of the ground foliage (whatever plant it is) and the red soil is amazing
Hi Christopher! The green tufts are spinifex and I’ve never seen it so green! And you’re absolutely right – the colour contrast with the red is amazing. It’s a sight to behold, for sure :)

Love how the lingering light is held firm before the world is engulfed into darkness Mieke. This has the real feeling of the end of a gorgeous day with the remaining warmth and colours trying to stand firm against the impending swash of darkness.
I couldn’t have put it better myself ;) The glow of the red cliffs at sunset is truly breath-taking to watch… That’s if you turn your back to the sun though… I have no idea how pretty it was looking the other way! :)
