Stunning Mieke. I’ve been wanting to capture a scene similar to this for a while now, but I’ve yet to achive the image that’s in my mind’s eye. You’ve done it here and more.

  • Awww… thanks, Chris!! I don’t get a lot of opportunities to shoot landscape like this where I live (ie. no opportunities) so I was delighted to have some overcast conditions to give it a go in Tassie! But the waterfall is actually the path, and by the end of the morning, I’d absolutely had enough of overhanging branches, wet feet and slippery tree-roots!!!

love the mood here Mieke….looks hdr-ish, and if it is it’s still awsome!!

  • Thanks, Murph!! Nah, no HDR. Just a bit of a “glow” using Nik Colour Efex filters…

Is that in PS? Or are they mounted on lens? It’s a nice effect!

It should be named the Hounslow Heath stumble, rather than path. It truly is a trial, rather than a trail! Still, it does have some pretty spots, and this is one of them! I climbed this three days earlier, before all the heavy rain, it was a little “less” traumatic….I do like the glow :)

  • Yep, yep, and yep! And thank you :) :) :)

It does look mysterious Mieke. I would’ve loved to have ventured forth, but too slippery for my ankles. Love the capture though – I can gloat and fave it.

  • Thanks, Elaine :) Yes, it was VERY slippery. I didn’t end up making it to the end because I got fed up with the rain and the puddles and the branches and the slipping everywhere! Still, it was worth it for a few nice shots, I think!
