I spent a wonderful Christmas down in the Margaret River area (Western Australia) and explored the area around Dunsborough in the early hours of the mornings… this wonderful rock formation is called “Sugarloaf Rock.”

wow speechless absolutely stunning work
Thank you, Damian! It’s a great place… It was looking it bit grey and dreary, but there was just enough colour to make it worthwhile :)
This is beautiful with its fine detail. Wonderful against that slow shutter water.
Thank you, Lucin! I really like shooting with the ND400 filter at the beach… it’s just a matter of finding a place for the tripod where it won’t move with the waves! :)
Kinda reminds me of a fog creeping up a valley, leaving the hilltops exposed. Another fine effort, m’dear, and a tribute to your diligence.
Why, thank you, kind Sir!! I must admit that this sunrise was a bit of a slow affair… in fact, the sun really didn’t make much of an appearance at all. But we make the most of what we’re given!!
Thank you, Ray!!
Great angle, and super foreground work Mieke, putting those reef shoes through some hard yards? must have been reasonably calm that day? anyhow love your work!
Yes, it was very calm. I did have to grab the tripod a couple of times because of a larger swell, but for the most part it was pretty much perfect for this kind of shot! Thanks again, Craig :)
Beautiful image Mieke, Love the foreground leading out to the rock and wonderful light :o)x
Thanks again, Josie! xo
So good to have you back Mieke, the textures in those rocksare just wonderous as the calm waters smooth their way through from cyan blue to swirling whites. The overcast backdrop compliments the mood perfectly too.
:) :) :)Thank you, Stuart. I really appreciate your beautiful descriptions. I’m not very good at taking the time to explain why I think something appeals to me. I admire that you do!!
A gorgeous capture Mieke..so good to have you back.
