Thank you very much for purchasing my work!

My Christmas has come early this year!

Thank you so much to twitty for purchasing “Strange and Impressive” for his sister:

and to the anonymous buyer of the medium framed print of “Ablaze”

… THANKYOU!!! I hope it looks wonderful on your wall!

Merry Christmas!!!

(PS. This journal is purely to thank the purchasers… No need to feel obliged to congratulate me!!)

IAA Awards... no big deal to anyone else, BUT...

I know that in every award situation, if you’re not the winner, you’re the loser…

I’ve only been giving photography a go for a couple of years, without any formal training except a Year 10 unit on photography, so…

It’s with absolute amazement and excitement that I announce (in full recognition that announcing awards is so un-Australian!!!)…

I received a 20th placing in the Abstract Illustrative Category for my photo “Glow”

and 37th placing for my photo “Aglow”

and although they didn’t make the Top 50, I also received a Silver Award for

and Bronze Awards for

I love photography, and one day I hope to be really good at it, and in the meantime, it’s things like this that make you think you have a chance! So forgive me for bragging, but I really am too thrilled to keep it quiet!!!

International Aperture Awards: Silver!!!

So from the journal entry I posted this morning, you already know that I’ve been knocked about a bit recently (literally!… A man I don’t know broke into my house while I was asleep and bashed me… pretty scary!!!) so opening my emails just now and seeing this message has TOTALLY made my day!!!

I am so excited! Yay!!! Whoo hoo!! Gonna go do a happy dance in my living room now…

More mystery buying... and an apology

Things have been pretty tough for me personally over the past three weeks.…

Without going into specifics, an incident that took place in mid-October has left me rather shaken, and it has also resulted in little time on ‘The Bubble’. So for those who have noticed that their work has been sitting idly in the moderation queue of any of the three groups I co-host (Australia – from the Outback to the Coast , Abstract Nature’s Macro Art and Kimberley Captures) for ages during this time, you have my sincere apologies. I promise things will go back to normal very soon!

In good news, I wish to thank whoever purchased a card of Take Off and another mystery person who bought a framed print of Reed Vessel – it is such a rush to know that someone likes your work enough to buy it! I really hope they mak

Mystery Buyer - you made my day!!

#THANK YOU, ANONYMOUS BUYER, FOR BUYING A POSTER OF MY PHOTO Glow . It’s my personal favourite of all my Black & Whites! I hope it looks sensational on your wall (or the wall of whoever you bought it for!). You’ve made my day!

Thank you!

I’ve always been intrigued by people posting messages about sales of their work to anonymous buyers. I kind of assumed that if the buyer was anonymous, then they wouldn’t be an RB member… right?? Which would mean that the person being thanked would never get their “Thank you” message……

Well, I put the question of Anonymous Buyers to RB… and what I didn’t know was that members can elect to keep their identity as a buyer to themselves (clearly, I’ve been buying a lot of other’s work… sigh… I wish…).

So, just in case any of my anonymous purchasers are ‘watching’, I would like to say THANK YOU!!! to the anonymously wonderful people who liked my photography enough to part with some of their precious little pink/blue/red/green pieces of paper – the ones that live in their wallets!!

And I
