what redbubble has given me...

I want to share this with you all… what finding redbubble has done to me…
When I was a little girl, all I ever wanted to be was a classical ballerina,,, unfortunately, at the age of 11, I injured both my knees, and have had around 15 knee operations on them,,,, I have suffered and battle depression, and at the age of 17 attempted to take my own life,,, I have been in constant pain, but I have now learnt to live my life with my pain,,,,, I have never really believed in myself, or have made friends easierly, as I have built up barriers, that are hard to remove…Since joining redbubble I have ‘met’ so many wonderful people, every comment on my work, gives me so much pleasure and joy,,,,I am inspired by what I see on redbubble, and it is a truely unique and friendly community…I have many hurdles to overcome in the next few months, but I have been given new strength and a new vigour for life since joining redbubble…. so thank you to everyone that I have ‘met’ here, you have inspired me to follow my dreams,,,,,,xxxxxx wendy (midzing)

I couldn’t agree with you more, it is a wonderful community and everyone is so friendly and helpful. You are doing what you enjoy and that is all you need. It is great that you are folloing your dreams. What you have to think is ,there is always someone worse off than yourself, so it doesn’t do you any good wallowing in self pity. Just carry on turning out great work and enjoy.

Hi Wendy – thank you for sharing your story. It is similar to what happened to my daughter Lauren, so I can really empathise with you. Red Bubble is a great place to meet new people and share thoughts, ideas, etc. I am so happy for you that you now feel inspired to follow your dreams – photography / art is great therapy. I wish you all the best with the hurdles you have still to overcome in the next few months. I can see in the work you have posted on RB that you love what you do with a passion..keep up the great work!

Wendy, as you already know I can empathize with your situation, but you have been through so much at such a tender young age and that is such a long road to travel! I began having chronic back pain at about 32 and there have been ups and downs. Unforunately, I am in that downslide now. BUT, having said that, I have experienced something very similar as you have. An awakening, if you will. It is truly a great feeling “to belong” here and to do the things that we love so much and have recognition. You, my friend, drink up the experience here because you are so deserved of this! Here’s to feeling better, new friends, and discoveries! You keep doing what you’re doing and don’t stop because it’s you!

Wendy, I was both saddened and uplifted by your words. It’s sad that you have endured so much already, in your young life. But this is overshadowed by the strength which is so clear from the same words. I am so glad that the Bubble has brought you joy and friends – it has done the same for me too.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a safe New Year, keep strong and connected to the Bubble!

Wendy, I have always thought of red bubble as more of a family than a community. MySpace is a community. We are more. And, that’s what family does. Help each other whenever they can. Thanks for your inspiration, your comments, and your fine eye for the photos you take. XOXO

I aint met you yet Wendy, but I know it will happen sooner or later on a Bubble meet up.
Thanks for sharing this with us. I have allot of things going through my head at the moment that I could not put up on RB, but you’ve had the currage to tell us.
RB is a good community, people understand where you’re coming from, that’s what i like about it. Now that I have met some of the bubbler’s it’s given me that more reason to hang on a little bit longer. It’s a pleasure to have you as a bubbler friend.

Hi Wendy – thanks for sharing such a profound story from the heart!
What I have learnt about life is that it is infinitely precious and the most amazing adventure imaginable – despite the hard times. We have to try to keep our perspective, to focus on what we have left instead of what we have lost. We must tap into our dreams, our creative energy, and follow our passions. You obviously have great creative vision and a passion for what you do, so Red Bubble is a wonderful place for you to be!

I want to share one of my favourite poems with you for the days when the going gets tough:

    “WAIT

    Wait, for now.
Distrust everything, if you have to.
But trust the hours. Haven’t they
carried you everywhere, up to now?
Personal events will become interesting again.
    Hair will become interesting.
    Pain will become interesting.
Buds that open out of season will become lovely again.
Second-hand gloves will become lovely again,
their memories are what give them
the need for other hands. And the desolation
of lovers is the same: that enormous emptiness
carved out of such tiny beings as we are
asks to be filled; the need
for the new love is faithfulness to the old.

    Wait.
    Don’t go too early.
    You’re tired. But everyone’s tired.
But no one is tired enough.
Only wait a while and listen.
    Music of hair,
    Music of pain,
music of looms weaving all our loves again.
Be there to hear it, it will be the only time,
    most of all to hear,
the flute of your whole existence,
rehearsed by the sorrows, play itself into total exhaustion.”
    -GALWAY KINNELL

Trust the hours, they will carry you through – and your friends at RB will support you!

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones, and may 2008 exceed your wildest expectations!

    Martie.
