Amazing portrait,Midori! :D I love her eyes and her subtle smile very much! Have never done a human portrait before….how long did you take to do a piece like this?

  • Midori Furze replied

    Hi, Ellen!!

How long did I take to do the paintings?
Sometimes it takes only 1-2 days.
Sometimes it takes 3 months. ( I work on 2 or 3 paintings at the same time.)
Sometimes it has never finished. (I have a lot of them.) : (((
I tend to do some touch ups after putting them on the wall.

This is a very relaxed piece after the commission work.
I finished it in two days.

    Thank you for your comment!!
    Looooove~!!

More I look at this painting, more I realize how compelling it really is. Your ‘summer girl’ strikes a chord – I suppose a lot of us have been blessed with summer loves; however brief, they are unforgettable. There’s something absolutely indestructible about this image.

  • Midori Furze replied

    Thank you very much, Carson!!!

    ずいぶん大きな絵なんですね。でもその分印象が強烈ですね。色彩も強烈だし、個展会場などでは注目されるでしょうね。傑作だと思います。

No doubt you’re sick of hearing how good this is by now, Midori, but it reminds me of the things Reg Mombasa does right (bold colour selection comlimenting strong shapes) WITHOUT the things he does wrong.

    Nice work ;)

btw love the lighting angle you chose for her!

  • Midori Furze replied

No, No, never sick of hearing the comments!!

I like Reg too! I didn’t mean THAT!!!
